The efficiency of the CPU cooler directly impacts the CPU's performance and longevity. If a CPU runs too hot, it may throttle its speed to reduce heat output, leading to reduced performance. Over time, high temperatures can also degrade the CPU and other components in the system, shortening their lifespan.
